READERS’ CLUB
Introduction and Objectives:
Reader’s Club is a group of students and teachers with the goal to develop reading habits and information literacy. It encourages cultural and creative activities around books.
Objectives:
- Exercises the mind, improves concentration and confidence
- Boosts creativity, vocabulary, and reasoning skills
- Introduces students to different cultures and places
- Builds self-esteem through informed reading
- Improves discipline through regular reading
- Acts as a stress-buster
- Enhances eyesight when reading in natural light
- Books give peace of mind and inspire optimism
- Motivates hard work and success
CONSTITUTION
Students:
- President
- Secretary
- Class Representatives (VI-XII)
Teachers: 2 with good reading habits
Librarian: Convener
Members: 50-75 students as per school club activity plan
Meetings: At least once in three months
Badges for President and Secretary
* Separate bulletin boards for the Club may be created
